Eco Fabrics

Sustainability is considered throughout the Linwood collection, from the natural fibres we choose to the innovative ways materials can be reused and reimagined. Alongside excellent quality and enduring design, many of our fabrics are created with a focus on reducing environmental impact without compromising on beauty or performance.

One of the most naturally sustainable fabrics is linen, woven from flax – a resilient plant that requires very little water to grow. Linwood’s linen collection spans everything from timeless plains to decorative printed designs, including collections such as Maru, all suitable for curtains, upholstery, blinds and cushions.

Elsewhere in the collection, recycled and renewable materials are used to create fabrics with lasting appeal. Saddle incorporates leather offcuts from the footwear and accessories industries that might otherwise go to waste, while Omega IV features recycled polyester within its luxurious velvet pile. Wool also plays an important role within the range. Naturally renewable, biodegradable and exceptionally durable, it offers a responsible choice for both contemporary and traditional interiors. Lana is woven using recycled wool, while Romney British Wool celebrates a local supply chain, using wool from Romney sheep and weaving it in Yorkshire and Lancashire.

Developed in our Hampshire studio and woven or printed by specialist mills, these collections demonstrate how considered design, quality craftsmanship and thoughtful material choices can work hand in hand. From natural fibres and recycled materials to beautifully printed linens and richly textured woven fabrics, the collection brings together sustainability, performance and enduring style.

A considered collection of natural and innovative fabrics for more responsible interiors.

FAQs... Eco Fabrics

What eco-friendly materials are used in Linwood's eco fabric range?

Linwood uses recycled wool, organic cotton from fashion industry offcuts, natural linen grown from the flax plant, and recycled polyester in our Omega IVIII velvet collection. Each material is chosen to minimise environmental impact without compromising on quality or design.

How does Linwood ensure the sustainability of its eco fabrics?

We choose materials that minimise harm to the environment, focusing on recycled and sustainable options. We also consider carbon footprint throughout the supply chain and are committed to growing our sustainable offering, saving water and energy in our processes.

Is linen really one of the most sustainable fabric options?

Yes. Linen comes from the flax plant, which grows with no additional irrigation beyond natural rainfall, uses far fewer pesticides than cotton, and produces almost no waste. Every part of the flax plant can be used, making it one of the most resource-efficient natural fibres available.
