After months of hard work, Linwood is pleased to announce an exciting collaboration with the ‘queen of the affordable bespoke rug’, Amy Kent.
Amy Kent, like Linwood, is a British success story. Amy brings a unique vision to the rug world from her Wiltshire workshop. Each season, she works with like-minded designers whose ideas and aesthetics she believes would work well in rugs.
The bold use of colour and striking designs of Amy’s rugs resonated with the Linwood design team (Ella Richards, left, and Jill Duffy-Unwin). ‘We knew we could develop a collection that was both timeless and fashionable, as well as accessible.’
Amy established her business 20 years ago after visiting India. Today, she makes her own designs employing ancient Indian rug weaving traditions from Bhadohi and Kathmandu, where the new Linwood collection was hand knotted in wool and art silk by a brother and sister duo with whom Amy has worked for the past decade.
Amy’s renowned hands-on approach is what distinguishes her. ‘Home and family are the most important things to me,’ comments Amy. ‘It is this sense of home, comfort and joy that I endeavour to bring with creating rugs for people. I love going into client’s houses and really helping them find what would suit them.
We will be showcasing these designs during LDW at The Orange, Pimlico (1st Floor) on Tuesday 11th March, 11am-5pm, all are welcome.
