  • Is velvet durable for upholstery?

    Yes, Linwood’s Omega velvet is particularly durable. It has a Martindale rub test of 100,000+ and is therefore suitable for all contract use including severe, as well as busy domestic homes with children and pets. This test – the industry standard – measures how much wear and tear a fabric can take before a noticeable change in appearance.

  • What type of velvet is best for upholstery?

    Velvet woven with polyester, such as Omega, is more hardwearing than cotton velvet and is less prone to marking and damage, so it’s a great choice for upholstery. Omega velvet also has a clever water and stain resistant finish that makes light work of everyday spills.

  • Is velvet a good fabric for a sofa?

    Most definitely, velvet fabric feels gorgeously soft and tactile and if cared for properly can look good for years. Omega is also available in more than 100 colours from neutrals too bolder hues, so you’ll easily find the right colour for your sofa.
